This spider is a real, taxidermy Avicularia Avicularia, otherwise known as the Pinktoe Tarantula. In the 18th Century, Swedish botanist, zoologist and taxonomist Carl Linnaeus formalized the modern system of naming organisms. The Pinktoe was the first tarantula he ever identified. Native to Central and South America, the spider typically can grow to be 3 to 5 inches, and live to 6 to 9 years if it is female. The male spiders will only see 2 to 3 years.
